Top Minor League Baseball Performers from Yesterday: Standout Stats & Rising Stars
Discover the standouts and starts from Wednesday's Minor League slate of games.
Happy May! I would put the “It’s Gonna Be May” Justin Timberlake gif, but I’ll refrain. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who supports my work. I know a lot of people subscribe in the offseason for draft preparation, but I would encourage you to stay all year. The content is only getting better, and I have new rankings and tools on the way.
With that being said, today only, you can get 15% off a yearly subscription! Give it a shot - you won’t regret it!
Let’s recap what happened across the entire landscape of pro baseball yesterday. If you are unfamiliar with the Dynasty Digest, it is a daily newsletter covering the previous days’ action. While the main focus is usually Minor League Baseball, I will also be hitting on MLB performances to know as well.

Each day, I will pick a hitter and pitcher who stand out and deserve the top spot on the sheet. Those players’ reports will be free for all to read. The rest will be paywalled for Dynasty Dugout Subscribers. The article is around 3000 words, giving you detailed player reports to encapsulate everything you need to know.
Jacob Reimer, 3B, New York Mets, 21, A+
Have a day, Jacob Reimer! To my knowledge, Reimer’s three-home run day on Wednesday was the first this year for a minor league hitter. Cam Collier did it in August last year. What I did confirm is that it was the Brooklyn Cyclones’ first three-homer game since 2005.
Missing time last season and getting just 95 plate appearances, Reimer went to the Arizona Fall League, where I scouted him. In 2023, Reimer hit just eight home runs in 419 plate appearances. After yesterday’s game, Reimer is up to five in 94 plate appearances in 2025.
Reimer has always had good contact skills and approach. He has run a contact rate at 78 percent or higher in every season of his career to this point. He has a strong 6’0” frame and always had respectable exit velocities. It has just been about lifting the ball to the pull-side more often.
Good news, Reimer’s air rate of 68 percent is up by over 15 percentage points from where his career mark has been. Lots of things are looking really good for Reimer right now, and I am intrigued.
Juaron Watts-Brown, RHP, Toronto Blue Jays, 23, A+
I think it is time we see Watts-Brown in Double-A. What do you say, Blue Jays? Even with a down draft year in 2023 at Oklahoma State, the Blue Jays liked Watts-Brown enough to take him in the third round. Making his pro debut in 2024, the results were mainly up and down. In Single-A, Watts-Brown posted a 3.43 ERA in 57.2 innings. But in High-A, a 6.35 ERA across 45.1 innings.
Returning to Vancouver this year, Watts-Brown now has two 10-strikeout performances in five starts. Wednesday was one of those days as Watts-Brown tossed four innings of two-run ball. He allowed four hits and one walk, but all the damage came on a long ball to Jackson Feltner.
Watts-Brown has a fastball that sits around 93 mph, but it plays up with 18-19 inches of IVB from his 6’0” release height. He spins the pitch well and creates 6’9” of extension. The slider sits in the mid-80s with a gyro shape and missed bats at a high clip last season. Watts-Brown’s curveball has nice depth and more horizontal movement, sitting in the mid-70s and having nearly 15 inches of IVB separation from the slider.
The changeup is effective against left-handed batters, as Watts-Brown integrated it more in 2024 than he did in college. It has 15 inches of fading action with good carry. The arsenal is deep, and his frame is one of a starter, which leads many to believe that there is potential for more velocity here with a few tweaks.
