MLB Pitching

Tanner Bibee, RHP, CLE, 25, MLB

Bibee has been pitching on another level recently. Many were quick to write him off early after the first few starts were not ideal. On May 3, Bibee posted a six-earned run outing over five innings with just four strikeouts. Since that day, Bibee has made eight starts with a 3.00 ERA and 2.35 FIP, the fourth-lowest mark in baseball.

Over that span, Bibee has struck out 33 percent of batters faced while walking just 4.4 percent. The strikeouts have ticked up significantly over the last two starts as well as Bibee turned in a 12-strikeout performance on Wednesday, which followed an 11-strikeout game last week.

What changed? Well, Bibee continues to miss more bats with his fastball and saw his curveball rate spike at the start of Wednesday. His location has improved significantly. His arm slot has changed(lower) and the velocity has trended upward.

He looks like one of the best pitchers in baseball at the moment.

MLB Hitting

Sean Murphy, C, ATL, 29, MLB

Entering Wednesday’s action, Murphy had just one home run and barrel on the year with an abysmal slash of .135/.196/.212. Hopefully, The four-hit, two-home run performance from Murphy puts him back on the right track.

Murphy turned in three batted ball events of at least 106.8 or higher, a mark he had reached just once all year. He also was facing off against Tarik Skubal, one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Murphy was dropped in quite a few leagues, given the questions I got on X, but he should be rostered everywhere.
