Dalton Rushing, C, LAD, 23, AA

Rushing had an incredible day, and it earned him a promotion to Triple-A. Capping off his third multi-hit game of the week, Rushing blasted two home runs and drove in three, giving him four home runs on the week and 17 on the season.

No one really talks about Rushing. It must be prospect fatigue because all he does is hit and get on base. The Dodgers have taken his development slow and have not pushed him aggressively since drafting him 40th overall in 2022. This is good news that he has continued to his while getting reps behind the plate.

Rushing makes above-average contact and has plus or better plate discipline. His power is easily above-average, and He looks like he could regularly be a 25-home run threat.

Now we are on the verge of seeing him make his MLB debut now that he is in Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Trey Sweeney, SS, DET, 24, AAA

Being traded to Detroit seems to have motivated Sweeney, as he is off to a smoking-hot start. A three-hit day on Sunday has made it three straight multi-hit games since moving to Detroit’s org. Sweeney homered and doubled for the second straight game.

Four of Sweeney’s five batted balls on Sunday were hard-hit, including three over 101 with a max of 107 mph. This included a pretty tough matchup against Pirates’ Thomas Harrington. Ten of his 12 batted balls have been hit harder than 95 mph.

While some felt the return for Flaherty was a little underwhelming, Sweeney is going to be a Major Leaguer, maybe as soon as this month. He makes contact at an above-average clip and does not expand the zone often. He hits the ball relatively hard, it is just about lifting it more often.
