The Dynasty Digest: April 25, 2024
Chris Clegg breaks down everything you need to know from the Single-A to the Majors to help you win in dynasty.
The digest is all about bringing you what you need to know from yesterday’s action. It is hard to know and write up detailed reports on everything notable, but what I hope to do is give you solid breakdowns on about 20 players from the lowest levels of the minors all the way up to the majors. This can help you stay ahead in dynasty leagues.
Today’s report is just ten names, but they are detailed prospect write ups that I hope will help you get an edge on some guys early. Let’s get to the report, the Wednesday, April 25th edition of The Dynasty Digest.
MiLB Hitters
Joey Loperfido, INF/OF, HOU, 24, AAA
At this point, I am not sure what else Loperfido needs to prove at the Triple-A level, especially considering Jose Abreu is floundering at the MLB level with an impressive slash line of .065/.132/.081, and the outfield situation has not been much better outside of Kyle Tucker.
Loperfido hit two more home runs on Wednesday night to bring his total to 12 on the year and had three batted balls over 103.5 mph, including home runs at 106.2 and 107.5 mph. His average exit velocity sits at 94.5 mph at this point and his contact rate has continually improved. The barrel rate now sits at 28.6 percent which would be the best in baseball.
There is always pushback. He strikes out too much; he can’t make contact. The data actually says otherwise, as he has improved on his contact rate throughout the season. There is enough contact there for him to be successful upon promotion with power, speed, and nice positional eligibility.
