The Dynasty Digest: April 12, 2024
Chris Clegg breaks down all the MLB and MiLB action that you need to know.
I am going to try and new layout today for the Digest and break it up by MLB hitters and pitchers as well as MiLB hitters and pitchers. Hopefully it helps the flow of the article a bit and gives you more insight into MLB players as well.
The digest is all about bringing you what you need to know from yesterday’s action. It is hard to know and write up detailed reports on everything notable, but what I hope to do is give you solid breakdowns on about 20 players from the lowest levels of the minors all the way up to the majors. This can help you stay ahead in dynasty leagues.
Let’s get to the report, the Friday, April 12th Dynasty Digest.
The Dynasty Report
MLB Hitter Standouts
Colton Cowser, OF, BAL
Cowser appears to be finding his footing with more regular playing time, having started each of the last three games. He stole the show on Thursday night, blasting two home runs and collecting a double while driving in four runs.
The home runs left the bat with exit velocities of 113.6 mph and 103.7 mph, and Cowser also added two more batted balls over 101.6 mph. Cowser looks to be settling in nicely and could run with the left-field job.
Bobby Witt Jr., SS, KC
Joining Cowser in the two-home run club on Thursday was Bobby Witt Jr., who collected four hits on the day. Among his five batted ball events, Witt had four above 103 mph and a fifth that nearly cleared 100 mph at 99.7. Witt is now up to four home runs and three stolen bases to pair with a .358/.414/.755 slash line.
It seems pretty unfathomable that Witt is rocking an average exit velocity near 100 mph(99.4) and a barrel rate of 26.5 percent. He might just be on his way to a 40 home run/40 stolen base season.
Vinnie Pasquantino, 1B, KC
The entire Kansas City lineup mashed, and Pasquantino was a big part of it. After starting out the year very slowly, Pasquantino got on the board on Wednesday with a three-hit day, including a home run, double, and five RBI, and the success continued into Thursday.
Pasquantino added three more hits, which were two singles and a double. It was also a good sign to see him put up two exit velocities north of 106 mph while having several others in the 90s.
It seems likely that it was just a slow start, but Vinnie P is okay after all.
