Starting Pitcher Streamers 4/29-5/5

Michael Simione breaks down all the pitching streamers that you need to know for this weeks slate of games.

It has been a very long two weeks for me as I have been traveling for work. Being away certainly puts things into perspective when it comes to loved ones, especially when they aren’t away with you (also known as vacation). It’s so hard to remember to take a step back from time to time and appreciate the people around you. It is always good to reach out to people you haven’t spoken to in a while and to always tell the people who are close to you that you love them.

Stuff+ Leaders Last Three Weeks:

Greene - 132

  • A quick update. It seems no one pays attention in ESPN leagues or most of them are very small leagues. My picks will now only be under 30% rostered in Yahoo!

Analysis and Backup Options

Monday 4/29

Streamer of the Day

After a terrible first start, Bailey Falter has really settled in and put up some impressive starts against some good offenses. He takes on the Athletics making this a no-brainer, especially with his 20% K-BB% in the last 14 days.

Strikeout Upside

Bailey Falter, Trevor Rogers, and Jake Irvin.

Ratio Play (High Floor)

Bailey Falter, Trevor Rogers, and Steven Matz.

Win/QS Potential

Bailey Falter, Steven Matz, Kenta Maeda, and Trevor Rogers.

If I Had to Rank The Top Five

  1. Bailey Falter at OAK

  2. Trevor Rogers vs WSH

  3. Kenta Maeda vs STL

  4. Jake Irvin at MIA

  5. Steven Matz at DET

Tuesday 4/30

Streamer of the Day

I’m loving these first two streams to start the week. First the A’s and now the White Sox as the opponents. Simeon Woods Richardson is a known prospect who has been pretty darn good as of late. His stuff isn’t off the charts but his really good command will keep his floor high.

Strikeout Upside

Simeon Woods Richardson, Alex Wood, and Kyle Gibson.

Ratio Play (High Floor)

Simeon Woods Richardson

Win/QS Potential

Simeon Woods Richardson, Kyle Gibson, and Alex Wood.

If I Had to Rank The Top Five

  1. Simeon Woods Richardson at CHW

  2. Alex Wood vs PIT

  3. Kyle Gibson at DET

  4. Dean Kremer vs NYY

  5. Sean Manaea vs CHC

Wednesday 5/1

Streamer of the Day

Once again we will be playing matchups when possible against Oakland and the White Sox. Quinn Priester (just recently pulled an auto baseball card of his!) takes on Oakland and it is hard not to take him as a streamer. His 2.97 SIERA and 12.4 SwStr% L14 will do just fine!

Strikeout Upside

Reese Olson and Colin Rea.

Ratio Play (High Floor)

Quinn Priester, Andrew Heaney, Reese Olson, and Colin Rea.

Win/QS Potential

Quinn Priester, Reese Olson, and Colin Rea.

If I Had to Rank The Top Five

  1. Quinn Priester at OAK

  2. Reese Olson vs STL

  3. Colin Rea vs TBR

  4. Andrew Heaney vs WSH

  5. Graham Ashcraft at SDP

Thursday 5/2

Streamer of the Day

There are literally not options that I like here so we will just rely on who has the best stuff and that would be Ben Brown. Don’t do it though. Stay away.

Strikeout Upside

Ben Brown and Peter Lambert.

Ratio Play (High Floor)

Ben Brown.

Win/QS Potential

Ben Brown.

If I Had to Rank The Top Five

  1. Ben Brown at NYM

  2. Peter Lambert at MIA

  3. Logan Allen at HOU

  4. Adrian Houser vs CHC

Friday 5/3

Streamer of the Day

Martin Perez draws the start against the Rockies at home. The Rockies are always the worst offense in the league when on the road and their insanely high 14.9 SwStr% in the last seven days is astoundingly bad. Perez isn’t great but the matchup is. Let’s add in Ryan Weathers against Oakland as well!

Strikeout Upside

Martin Perez, Ryan Weathers, Jose Soriano, and Slade Cecconi.

Ratio Play (High Floor)

Martin Perez and Ryan Weathers.

Win/QS Potential

Martin Perez and Ryan Weathers.

If I Had to Rank The Top Five

  1. Martin Perez vs COL

  2. Ryan Weathers at OAK

  3. Slade Cecconi vs SDP

  4. Jose Soriano at CLE

  5. Chris Paddack vs BOS

Saturday 5/4

Streamer of the Day

This was tough to choose between Lively and Rogers. But Lively has been on fire and it’s hard to deny that. He has a 31.0 K-BB% and 2.51 SIERA in the last 14 days. Now I don’t expect that elite K-BB% to last but Lively is clearly feeling in control and the Angels don’t make a ton of in-zone contact.

Strikeout Upside

Ben Lively and Trevor Rogers.

Ratio Play (High Floor)

Ben Lively and Trevor Rogers.

Win/QS Potential

Ben Lively and Trevor Rogers.

If I Had to Rank The Top Five

  1. Ben Lively vs LAA

  2. Trevor Rogers at OAK

  3. Keaton Winn at PHI

  4. Jameson Taillon vs MIL

  5. Taijuan Walker vs SFG

Sunday 5/5

Streamer of the Day

Although Steven Matz just had a blowup I am still willing to bet on him at home against the White Sox. If he can’t do it here he is basically a lost cause. Let’s hope he works those breaking balls well and keeps that fastball up in the zone.

Strikeout Upside

Steven Matz, Joe Boyle, and Bailey Falter.

Ratio Play (High Floor)

Steven Matz, Bailey Falter, and Kenta Maeda.

Win/QS Potential

Steven Matz and Kenta Maeda.

If I Had to Rank The Top Five

  1. Steven Matz vs CHW

  2. Bailey Falter vs COL

  3. Kenta Maeda at NYY

  4. Joe Boyle vs MIA

  5. Yariel Rodriguez at WSH
