San Francisco Giants Top Prospects for 2026

1. Josuar Gonzalez, SS, 18, 6’0”/167, A (Prev Rank: 2)

2026 Update

He is on the fast track to becoming the best prospect in baseball. He has, at the very worst, plus speed and projectable power. If you can trade for him, do it! The exit velocity data is extremely impressive; the athlete is good, and Gonzalez makes a ton of contact with a strong approach.

Josuar Gonzalez may very well be a top-10 prospect by this time next year when I'm tasked with writing this list again, so get in now before you can't. Gonzalez is one of the fastest athletes in the Giants system, stealing 33 bases on 38 attempts. In his debut campaign in the Giants organization, Josuar hit .288/.404/.455 with 4 homers,  and the impressive part of his 2025 campaign is he walked 37 times against only 36 strikeouts in a 228 PA sample.

Josuar was the highest-rated IFA signing in last year's class because of his double-plus bat speed and how smooth his game is. His swing is well-synced. He starts his load with a slight leg kick, brings his hands back, and lets that double-plus bat speed do the rest. There's a touch more loft in his left-handed swing than his right, but that can be ironed out as he climbs the ladder.

The exciting part with Josuar is you can see where more power is coming from, and it's not like he doesn't hit the ball hard now, he posted a 104 mph 90th-percentile exit velocity in 2025. As he matures and adds more man-strength, he could develop into a perennial 20-homer threat.

His baserunning is advanced for his age. He doesn't just get by on raw foot speed — he reads pitchers well and knows when to go. He could very well end up a 40-steal-per-season guy.

There's a smoothness to Josuar's game, and if the power takes a step forward he could be one of the most fantasy-impactful players you can roster. The dream is a 20-homer, 40-steal bat with upside in both categories,  and because he's a polished hitter, he could be an all-category contributor.
