Minnesota Twins Top Prospects for 2026

1. Walker Jenkins, OF, 21, 6’3”/210, AAA (Prev Rank: 1)

2026 Update

Walker Jenkins has missed time with little bumps and bruises, and this year was no exception. When Jenkins is healthy, he will be a five-category contributor. He hits the ball on the ground a lot, and that makes his raw power play down. Jenkins is a swing-plane change away from being the potential 30-homer bat we all hoped he would be when we drafted him high in our FYPDs years ago. A 106 90th percentile exit velocity is encouraging, but when you pair that with a 45% ground-ball rate, it makes the power play down. We should see him rather soon, where he can be a solid source of average and ratios; if that swing-plane change happens, he could be a nice breakout pick in the meantime.

Jenkins is a leader on and off the field. Some things are hard to quantify, but when I watched Jenkins, he was the kind of player I wanted on my team. During the pre-game, I watched Jenkins go about his business and interact with young fans. During the game, after at-bats, he would go to the dugout and talk to the next few hitters about pitch sequencing and then seemingly be working on what he could do better his next at-bat.

Drafted fifth overall in the 2023 MLB Draft, injuries have limited Jenkins to this point in his career, and in 2025, he reached a career high in plate appearances, 371. Splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A, Jenkins hit ten home runs and stole 17 bases while slashing .286/.399/.451.

At the plate, he has a tiny step forward but minimal hand movement in the box. His hips explode through the zone, but how he syncs up his hips, torso, and hands is impressive. It is low-effort power, and it is slowly developing.

The power took a step forward in 2025 as Jenkins saw an uptick in exit velocity data, posting a 90th percentile north of MLB average and topping out above 110 mph. While the contact skills took a step back in 2025, Jenkins still posted contact rates that could be considered plus, checking in at 79 percent with a strong feel for contact in the zone.

Jenkins still clocks as an above-average runner, but it could tick down with time as he matures. He stole 17 bases on 21 attempts in 2025 and has been efficient for his entire career.

Poised to make his debut in 2026, Jenkins’ high floor should allow him to hit during his rookie season. The power should still further develop as Jenkins balances his ability to hit and get to power. Injuries are the biggest concern.
