1. Arjun Nimmala, SS, 20, 6’0”/190, AA (Prev Rank: 1 in TOR)

2026 Update

Nimmala’s exit velocity data took a massive leap forward this year, though he has just eight home runs in 280 plate appearances. He has shown a strong approach and has kept the strikeouts in check. It is also worth noting that he has been in pretty pitcher-friendly environments at all stops this year. There is a ton of upside in the profile.

Nimmala was selected in the first round of the 2023 MLB draft but has had some bumps in the road. The complex sample was small post-draft; he came into Spring Training and showed some solid things. There have been bumps in the road, but Nimmala ended the 2025 season slashing .224/.313/.381 in High-A as a 19-year-old with 13 home runs and 17 stolen bases.

In the field, Nimmala looks great at shortstop, an area that has improved over the last year. The arm is plus, and his actions are smooth. He looks likely to stick there long-term.

The power has improved as well, and Nimmala saw a rise of two mph on his 90th percentile exit velocity up to 104 mph, which is right around MLB average. He will need to show better launch angles as he at times struggles to pull the ball in the air. While you look at his pull rate and come away impressed, a lot of the balls to that side of the field are grounders.

Nimmala still projects as an everyday player at shortstop, though he will need to work on improving some things in 2026. Being in the Eastern League as a 20-year-old will be a good test, but we will see where he is developmentally.
