July 2024 Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Trade Calculator & 3-Year Projections
Discover a three-year dynasty projection model for dynasty fantasy baseball with over 2500 players included.
The Dynasty Dugout Trade Calculator is getting even better. I have fully updated over 2000 projections for 2024, 2025, and 2026, which are ready to go in the trade calculator. The wild thing is, you can filter by six-different league types and sizes. Yes, it is honestly a bit overkill and a ton of work to keep up with 18 projection sets, but here we are. Hopefully these help guide you in trades.
Would you move two young studs like Chourio and Wood for Bobby Witt Jr? The projection model sees it as being close over the next three years.
Are you looking to see how much draft picks are worth in a trade?
How do your players project to perform over the next three years?
Playing for 2026 and want to look at specific values then?
Making a 3-1 trade and need to add replacement level value?
What players should you add to make the trade fair?
Be able to filter by league size and type?
The Dynasty Dugout trade calculator will help you make decisions based on my three-year dynasty projection system.
This system has been a long time coming. I had the vision to build a 3-year projection system for dynasty baseball leagues to help managers understand how to value players over several years.
With dynasty trade calculators being popular in the fantasy football community, I knew we needed something more in the baseball space.
To build the system, I began by using ZIPS projections. ZIPS not only projects for the current season, but they also have projections for two future seasons. So, I took ZIPS projections for 2024, 2025, and 2026.
From there, I modified them in an SGP calculator, changing playing time and innings pitched projections for future seasons, especially with prospects. I then manually add in any prospect who is not in the projection system and manually run their projections with aging curves and other factors.
The trade calculator is designed to help you make decisions in trades. I have modified prospect projections to help give a more accurate projection on them. I have also added a tab for “prospect trade value.” Basically, this looks at players just drafted or signed internationally that may not provide any on-field production by 2025. Does that mean they don’t have dynasty value? No. Therefore this column helps add the perceived value these prospects carry in trades in dynasty.
A couple of things to note:
This current model that you are looking at is for 12-team leagues with 5x5 settings. Fewer players will have positive values because less players are relevant in a 12-team league. As we get the interface up to where you can select 15 or 20 teams, you will see plenty more players go from zero $ of value up into a positive range.
Catchers are naturally going to get a boost in value because with SGP, the high-end catchers are just so much better than other options.
Closers will have higher value for 2024 but less for 2025 and 2026. Why? Relief pitchers are highly volatile and closer situations change quickly.
Prospects have added value if they won’t contribute all three years.
THIS IS NOT AN END-ALL-BE-ALL! It is just another tool to help you make decisions.
These values are computerized projections. I do not input my personal bias into them.
