Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Sell High

Chris Clegg suggests eight players to cash out on in dynasty fantasy baseball leagues.

The All-Star break is a great time to reset and assess your dynasty teams and find a direction you want to go. Whether you are playing for 2024, or looking for players who can help you in the stretch run of 2023, I provide you eight players to sell high on in dynasty.

Isaac Paredes, INF, TB

Paredes has had an awesome season in 20223 in which he has mashed 16 home runs and slashed .265/.370/.504. Everything looks great on the surface but Paredes quality of contact has been sub-par. He has just a 29 percent hard-hit rate which seventh percentile among all MLB hitters.

There is always a chance the strong contact skills allow Paredes to sustain his production, but the hard-hit rate, coupled with poor barrel rates and exit velocities give me some pause. Not to mention the Rays have Kyle Manzardo, Curtis Mead, and Jonathan Aranda all vying for playing time with the big league club. I would cash out on Paredes and get a solid piece in return.

Geraldo Perdomo, SS, ARI

This year has been a pleasant surprise for Geraldo Perdomo, who has posted a .271/.378/.409 slash line with five home runs and eleven stolen bases. Perdomo has always shown strong plate discipline, allowing him to play in an OBP league.

Perdomo is like Paredes in that he makes good contact, but poor quality of contact and takes it to the extreme. Perdomo is running an average exit velocity below 85 mph, and a hard-hit rate of 19.6 percent which are both third worst among qualified hitters. I would cash out on Perdomo while you can.

Lane Thomas, OF, WSH

Thomas has been awesome and one of the biggest surprises of 2023, and honestly I’m not even sure there is too much regression coming. But if you can capitalize on the fact that Thomas is slashing .302/.347/.497 with fourteen home runs and eight stolen bases. He has been so good that he ranks 15th on the Razzball Player Rater but I don’t think we see him sustain this the rest of the season.

While not being a must sell, I think you could get something pretty solid in return for Thomas at this point and if you can get a top-100 dynasty asset for him, I would do so.
