2026 Update

Max Clark is nearly major-league-ready and projects as a solid fantasy outfielder thanks to his blend of power and speed. He receives an additional boost in OBP leagues due to his ability to get on base at a high clip. Clark hits the ball with authority, posting a 90th-percentile EV north of 104 mph. While some pop-up issues have dampened his season line, he remains a well-rounded prospect with 20/20 potential, hitting near the top of a lineup.

When you talk about a five-tool player, Clark comes to mind, playing strong centerfield, possessing a solid arm, making contact at a high rate, being a 70-runner, and flashing good power. In 2025, Clark added multiple ticks to his exit velocity while maintaining the ability to hit and not chase pitches out of the zone.

The swing generates line drives and sprays the ball to all fields well, which bodes well for his future batting average. Clark controls the barrel well through the zone and shows a very advanced hit tool for his age.

Splitting the season between High-A and Double-A, Clark slashed .271/.403/.432 with 14 home runs and 19 stolen bases. It was a five home run jump from 2024, and while the stolen bases were down, Clark was incredibly efficient, only being caught twice.

We are looking at solid contact rates for Clark, 82 percent overall and 89 percent in-zone, with an impressive 19 percent chase rate. Last year, the questions surrounded his power as Clark had a 102 mph 90th percentile exit velocity, but that took a leap to 105 mph this season. He topped out at 112 mph and hit the ball consistently hard.

Clark is an impressive athlete who eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball. He will work harder than most in the game, and the results will reflect that. He will turn 21 this offseason and could find himself in Detroit at some point in 2026.
