Cleveland Guardians Top Prospects for 2026

1. Travis Bazzana, 2B, 23, 6’0”/199, AAA

Bazzana was selected first overall last summer, and after struggling in his pro debut, some had questions about the profile. An oblique injury caused Bazzana to miss over two months of the season, and he accumulated just 374 plate appearances between Double-A and Triple-A. Still, Bazzana was good when on the field, slashing .245/.389/.424 with nine home runs and 12 stolen bases.

Under the hood, Bazzana did exactly what he has done his entire college and pro career. The underlying data suggests a player who does everything well, though he may not stand out in one particular area. Starting with his contact and approach, Bazzana ran a contact rate of 80 percent on the year, with an in-zone mark that jumped to 85 percent. Both marks are above-average and show strong contact skills. The chase rate and approach were even more impressive as Bazzana had a 15 percent chase rate, though the in-zone swing rate is lower than you would like to see.

While there was a lack of power when you look at surface numbers, things look good under the hood. Bazzana hit just nine home runs and had 17 doubles and five triples. But the launch angles were quite strong, and Bazzana created a high barrel rate thanks to a 104 mph 90th percentile exit velocity, a number north of MLB average.

Bazzana should make his MLB debut at some point in 2026. While he may not be a player who has elite fantasy upside, Bazzana will play exceptionally well in points or OBP leagues.

FFG: High OBP 2B

90th Percentile Peak Outcome: .290/.400/22 HR/15 SB

Variance: Low

Buy/Sell: Buy
