Cincinnati Reds Top Prospects for 2026
1. Sal Stewart, CI, 22, 6’1”/224, MLB
Stewart’s power outbreak in 2025 was impressive to watch, but it was not surprising if you have seen him play. Beginning the year in Double-A, Stewart worked his way to the Majors by season’s end. Across both Minor League levels, Stewart slahed .309/.383/.524 with 20 home runs and 17 stolen bases. Then, in his 58 plate appearances with the Reds, Stewart hit five home runs.
From a contact standpoint, Stewart has posted a mark of 80 percent or better overall at every stop throughout his minor league career. He wound up just below that in Triple-A, but showed a strong feel for the zone, making contact on 85 percent of swings on pitches in the zone.
Stewart now looks like the power hitter some thought he could be. Running a 107 mph 90th percentile exit velocity in 2025, Stewart topped out at 114 mph and had a 92 mph average exit velocity.
Factor in that Stewart will play his home games in Great American Ballpark, and we could see Stewart be a legit power bat as soon as 2026.
