Chicago White Sox Top Prospects for 2026
2026 Graduates: Noah Schultz, Sam Antonnaci, Grant Taylor, Munetaka Murakami
1. Roch Cholowsky, SS, 21, 6’2”/202, NCAA (Prev Rank: NR)
Cholowsky put together an incredibly impressive collegiate career at UCLA. 23 home runs in 2025 was followed by a 21 home run performance this year in 299 plate appearances while he slashed .320/.425/.636. He struck out and walked an equal number of times in the impressive season, which landed him as the first overall pick and the highest signing bonus ever.
Doing all things well, Cholowsky is a plus glove at shortstop, but at the plate he does not have a true flaw. Seeing the exit velocities improve in 2026, Cholowsky ran a 93 mph average exit velocity and a 108 mph 90th percentile exit velocity. He barrels up the ball well, and the slight flaw could be that he needs to pull the ball in the air more.
From an approach and contact standpoint, Cholowsky makes a ton of contact, running a 90 percent in-zone contact rate and an 84 percent overall contact rate. He chased at just a 20 percent clip this year.
While Cholowsky may not be a superstar in the making, the profile is full of above-average to plus tools, and he could be fast-tracked to the majors.
FFG: Well-Rounded High OBP SS
90th Percentile Peak Outcome: .280/.380/25 HR/17 SB
Variance: High
