Chicago White Sox Top Prospects for 2026
1. Caleb Bonemer, SS/3B, 20, 6’1”/195, A+
Bonemer was arguably the best hitter in a pitcher-friendly Carolina League in 2025, having an impressive 146 wRC+ as a 19-year-old. He earned a promotion to High-A Winston Salem to end the year, where he continued to hit and dominate. Between both levels, Bonemer hit 12 home runs and stole 29 bases while slashing .278/.401/.473.
Bonemer is already filled out, having a strong 6’1” frame, and the exit velocities are good. His 90th percentile exit velocity is up over 104 mph, and the barrel rate is strong. With a contact rate of 78 percent, that jumps to 85 percent on swings in the zone, Bonemer also ran a chase rate below 20 percent.
This is a well-rounded profile that could really take off with a bit more aggression. The swing rate sat just shy of 39 percent, and the zone swing rate is low. If Bonemer takes more advantage of pitches over the heart of the plate, he should see the numbers soar.
This is a legit hitter who has 22-25 home run power and speed. The hit tool will play as well as Bonemer shows a well-rounded profile. Bonemer is a solid buy this offseason.
FFG: Well-Rounded High OBP SS
90th Percentile Peak Outcome: .280/.380/25 HR/17 SB
Variance: High
Buy/Sell: Buy
