1. Ike Irish, C/OF, 22, 6’2”/210, A+ (Prev Rank: 6)

2026 Update

Irish has blasted 12 home runs so far this year and has stolen 18 bags, though he has been caught ten times. Slashing .262/.376/.468 with a 22 percent strikeout rate. The approach is solid and the contact rates look like they will settle in around average.

Irish had some of the best combinations of hit and power among the 2025 college class of hitters. Showing dominant performance since his freshman season at Auburn, including two impressive Cape Cod League stints, Irish dominated in 2025, slashing .364/.469/.710 with more walks than strikeouts. Irish blasted 19 home runs, stole 11 bases, and had 34 extra-base hits in 55 games.

The underlying data pops for Irish as well, as he posted a 114 max exit velocity with a 108 mph 90th percentile. The launch angles are inconsistent at times, but Irish creates plenty of barrels and extra base hits. He has shown the ability to hit velocity and breaking balls, which check several boxes we like to see.

The approach is strong with Irish, who ran just a 23 percent chase rate and showed good aggression on pitches in the zone. The overall contact rate was right at 80 percent, a mark he hit all three college seasons, but the in-zone contact also sits around there, which is below-average. The chase rate with two strikes also jumps to 42 percent, which is a concern.

There are questions surrounding Irish’s wood bat data in the Cape, where he posted a max exit velocity near 105 mph, and while we expect wood bat regression, that is a noticeable drop. If it clicks, Irish combo of skills at the plate will play, whether in the outfield or behind the dish.
