Arizona Diamondbacks Top Prospects for 2026

1. Demetrio Crisantes, 2B, 21, 6’0”/178, AA (Prev Rank: 2)

2026 Update

Crisantes is healthy, gaining some buzz, and making a ton of contact. There is some power here, and if he can keep this up, he could end the season in Triple-A and may get a chance to be a big leaguer in 2027. There is a blend of contact and power here that would play really well at 2B and may make him one of the better 2B options in a year or so after his acclimation to the big leagues.

Demetrio Crisantes’ 2025 was short-lived, but there was a lot to be encouraged by. In his brief 34-game sample, Crisantes hit .252/.358/.415 with four home runs and six stolen bases.

Crisantes was showing some more feel for lifting and pulling batted balls before his posterior labral tear. Along with how he started to shape his batted balls, his power was in line with what he had produced in 2024 and 2023, as he posted a 90th percentile exit velocity (EV) of 104.

He has stolen his fair share of bases in the low minors, stealing thirty bases in 2024. I would expect the stolen bases to dry up as he climbs the minor league ladder because he is not the greatest athlete.

He is an easy plus hitter, and if he is starting to lift and pull batted balls, he has a chance to develop into a middle-of-the-order type bat who plays second base. If it all clicks, he could be a 25-homer second baseman who chips in with about 10 stolen bases a year while also having a solid baseline of average and OBP.
