6 Hitting Prospects Who Ended the Season Rising Rankings

As we reach the final weeks of the MLB season, most Minor League levels have wrapped up. The playoffs are coming to an end, and while many have checked out in favor of football, you can capitalize in your dynasty league.

Over the next two days, I will deep dive some hitting and pitching prospects who have ended the season on a high note and are moving up rankings due to strong performance and data. Let’s take a look at the hitting prospects today.

6 Hitting Prospects Rising Rankings

Cooper Flemming, SS, Tampa Bay Rays

Flemming and the Rays were a perfect match when the Rays selected him 53rd overall last summer. The 6’3”/190 lb shortstop has a projectable frame and plays solid shortstop defense. He played incredible baseball all season and wound up closing out the regular season with a .298/.379/.450 slash with 11 home runs and 16 stolen bases. If you factor in the playoff games Charleston has played, Flemming has added in two more home runs.

The stellar season saw Flemming improve his exit velocity data all year and finish the year with a 90th percentile exit velocity around 102 mph. While lower than you want to see, Flemming has projection and does a great job of creating barrels.

He pairs that with a strong zone contact rate north of 85 percent with an overall mark near 79 percent. He has a sound approach with an average chase rate, but has done a good job getting on base regularly.

Flemming just turned 20 years old in August. He has a ton of projection on the frame and is already tapping into more power. Don’t be surprised when he has a huge breakout in 2027. He looks like a top 25ish prospect to me right now.
