2024 MiLB Advanced Database
Chris Clegg provides his database with advanced stats for both MLB and MILB.
If you know me or have followed my work for a while, you know that I love advanced data. I have studied it for a long time and figured out the best ways to blend it with scouting methods to help find the best players for fantasy baseball players.
The updated database has a ton of new data, perfect for offseason research for redraft or dynasty leagues.
There is a ton of data out there, and knowing what is just noise and what is useful is highly important. Most of the MILB data is non-public, but as the ABS system continues to be implemented in the Minor Leagues, we have statcast data for Triple-A and Single-A(Florida State League). Also, in the backlogs on MLB API, you can get swing data which means accurate contact rates for every Minor League hitter, swinging strike rates, and CSW% for every MILB pitcher. Metrics that I find highly useful in my evaluation process.
I knew zero about code coming into this year, but I have worked hard to understand better how to code to get this data and give access to you, the reader. So, over the last few months, I have been working to properly code and get this data and present it in a useful way to the reader.
Currently, you can see and compare:
For All Levels(A-MLB)
-Contact%
-CSW%
-Swinging Strike%
-K-BB%
-Strike%
For Statcast Games(A,AAA,MLB)
-Launch Angle
-Average EV
-90th Percentile EV
-Max EV
Pitcher Arsenals
-Pitch types
-Average Velo
-IVB
-hMov
-Spin Rates
-CSW%
-Strike%
I will make it a point to get every possible public MiLB data point available to you for research!
